Photographer BIO:
My Names Joshua Snow, I’m an artist, and educator based in southern Utah. I spend all my time either creating, teaching, or traveling in search of inspiration. Even though I’m a photographer I approach my work like I would a painting, not focused on a single moment in time but doing my best to convey movement and feeling. I want my viewers to be transported, to feel inspired and moved, to see through straight to my soul.
My art is everything to me, and since picking up a camera for the first time in 2013 my motivation, and understanding has evolved so much, it’s changed who I am and I can’t imagine being or doing anything else! When I was a kid all I wanted to do was be outside with the bugs and animals exploring, not studying to be an engineer, or a doctor, or astronaut, but as I grew older I fell into the rat race of building a career, working 50 hours a week. Eventually I did become an engineer, working and going to school, and ended up severely and dangerously overweight. Reconnecting with nature and picking up a camera saved my life.
I’m healthier now and over the course of the last 6 years I have managed to break away from the day job to focus on creating and helping others learn how to see, feel and think more creatively or in a different way and to help improve their photography. All of the other things that I’ve found passion in throughout life didn’t really feel right, until this, and I never ever saw this life coming, but I couldn’t imagine it any other way!
Now I spent almost all of my time exploring, traveling or cruising around with my rescue pups seeking our next adventure!
