Pack Week Story

Among your recent projects or adventures, which one is your favorite and why?
My favorite recent project has been to serve as DOP and Film director of the Italian footage for a documentary to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the communist party of China. The famous Italian actress, Maria Grazia Cucinotta, is the protagonist. This project thrilled me because I finally got to film and shoot in Rome where I was born. I consider Rome the most beautiful city of the world. Working with such an easy going, charming and experienced cinema actress like Maria Grazia Cucinotta made me feel even more at home.

What’s the story behind this project?
The story takes place mostly in China through the Italian symbolism of fashion, and the beauty of Maria Grazia Cucinotta as the main protagonist. We wanted the film to be a full immersion in Chinese traditions, modernity and the Chinese way of living over the last 100 years of the Communist Party. China has inspired millions around the world. China's spirit of revolution, courage, dedication and hard work. As the Party marks its centennial in 2021, it's an occasion to review its path and forecast its future.

What about that project motivated you?
We had to recreate China in a few days here in Rome, meaning that all the indoor scenes had to simulate indoor hotel rooms in Shangai and Beijing. That required full focus on details, compositions, and the lighting aspects of my photography. I also was very motivated by also directing the actress and taking care of all of the Director's Cut, too.

When traveling, which f-stop bag or bags do you take, and which Camera Bag Insert or accessories do you take?
When I am traveling here in Italy I usually take the Dyota Series, especially the Dyota 20 which is my favorite for urban projects and also I love the color of Rooibos Tea which really stands out.

What’s your go-to camera setup
In this camera bag, I usually carry 2 camera bodies with 3 to 4 lenses, a flash kit, all my battery kits and chargers, and 2 memory card boxes. For this project I selected Prime Vintage Lenses, and Panalight Prime Circle Kit of Lenses.

Which f-stop pack and camera bag insert combination is your favorite and why?
My ideal camera bag insert for urban shooting and filming is the following:

The Dyota 20 and also I fit in my black ACCESSORY POUCH - MEDIUM WELDED to have by hand all my credit cards, facial mask, ID cards and personal belongings and so to separate then from my photographic and video gears, and also in the top side I bring along my WELDED NAVIN POUCH - CAMERA HOLSTER which is really useful to carry my zoom lens, 70-200m of canon and some extra batteries, cleaning kit and so on.
